Districts that were located in the disaster area for Hurricane Harvey have been notified that during the month of September, all students will receive free reimbursable breakfast and lunch meals. Parents who have already paid for reimbursable meals during the month of September will have that amount credited to their account. We are in the process of identifying those accounts and working with our food service provider to ensure that all accounts are properly credited. If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Department.
This Saturday night at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Performing Arts Center, five ballet folklórico groups will perform in celebration of Diez y Seis. Tickets are $5.00 in advance at bisdtx.org/pac or $8.00 at the door. Children 5 and under are free. Groups performing include Cedar Creek High School, Stony Point High School, Austin High School, Del Valle High School, and Guzman Ballet Folklórico.
The new online portal for adding money to student accounts, called RevTrak, is now available. Parents can access the new system on our Nutrition Services web page. Thank you for your patience as we got our new system up and running this week!
Based upon information we know from meeting with emergency personnel this morning, Bastrop ISD will operate a full school day today. We will continue to monitor the weather and make any adjustments needed in the interest of student and staff safety.
Many BISD parents have not yet logged into Family Access to verify their returning student's information, including EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION, for the 2017-18 school year. To ensure that all our families receive important and timely information such as severe weather, delays and closings, it is VERY IMPORTANT that parents log into Family Access and verify their child's data for the new school year. This includes address, phone # and email address as well as all signature forms.

All current GT students and their parents, as well as other students/parents and community members interested in the district's Gifted/Talented program, are invited to attend an important informational meeting being held at Bastrop Intermediate School on Sept. 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the library. This is for all ages/grades.
Bastrop ISD is monitoring weather reports related to Tropical Depression Harvey and will update our parents and staff as it becomes necessary.
Bell schedules beginning tomorrow are as follows: Elementary (7:30 to 3:00 pm), Intermediate/Middle (8:30 to 4:00 pm) and High School (8:40 to 4:10 pm). Gateway DAEP hours are 7:30 to 3:00 pm. We look forward to welcoming all our students back for the new school year!
