Robotics programs from the middle schools and high schools in Bastrop ISD were featured by reporter Jason Puckett on KVUE's Tech Tuesday segment. KVUE came out to the STEM Robotics Showcase held at the Bastrop Convention Center on Monday night. The Showcase was organized by the Bastrop EDC and the Lost Pines High Tech Consortium for the benefit of all students in Bastrop County.

As part of Inclusive Schools Week, KVUE Reporter, Christy Millweard came to Emile Elementary to see our inclusive programs in action. Bastrop ISD has a series of educational programs and services to meet the needs of all students.
Bastrop ISD and all of its campuses will be closed from November 20-24 in observance of the Thanksgiving break. We wish all of our students and their families and safe and Happy Thanksgiving. We will see everyone back on Monday, November 27.
The $20,000 LRNG grant that elementary teachers across the district received earlier this year was featured in the Huffington Post.
Reminder: Students have early release on Wednesday, November 1st. Elementary will release at 12:00, intermediate/middle school will release at 1:00, and high school will release at 1:10 pm. Morning pre-k will meet 7:30-9:30, and afternoon pre-k will meet 10:00-12:00 pm.
Districts that were located in the disaster area for Hurricane Harvey have been notified that during the month of September, all students will receive free reimbursable breakfast and lunch meals. Parents who have already paid for reimbursable meals during the month of September will have that amount credited to their account. We are in the process of identifying those accounts and working with our food service provider to ensure that all accounts are properly credited. If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Department.
This Saturday night at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Performing Arts Center, five ballet folklórico groups will perform in celebration of Diez y Seis. Tickets are $5.00 in advance at bisdtx.org/pac or $8.00 at the door. Children 5 and under are free. Groups performing include Cedar Creek High School, Stony Point High School, Austin High School, Del Valle High School, and Guzman Ballet Folklórico.
The new online portal for adding money to student accounts, called RevTrak, is now available. Parents can access the new system on our Nutrition Services web page. Thank you for your patience as we got our new system up and running this week!
Based upon information we know from meeting with emergency personnel this morning, Bastrop ISD will operate a full school day today. We will continue to monitor the weather and make any adjustments needed in the interest of student and staff safety.
